The Patricia H. Buster Scholarship for Elementary Educators
Patricia H. Buster was a passionate teacher for over 30 years and a follower of Jesus Christ. She longed to see more people of color and believers enter the teaching profession that she loved so very much. She believed that it was important to live out your faith wherever you may be and for so much of her life that was a public school classroom.
The scholarship in her honor exists to assist Christians of color enter the field of elementary education. Criteria for the scholarship include, financial need, passion for teaching, and passion for living out one's faith. The scholarship is open to high school seniors through undergraduate juniors. Applicants must be legal residents of the United States and attending an institution within the United States or its territories.
Applications are currently being accepted for Fall 2020. The application deadline is April 30, 2020. This one time scholarship is for up to $1000 with $500 distributed directly to the institution for the Fall semester and $500 distributed directly to the institution for the Spring semester. A minimum of 2 scholarships are being offered for Fall 2020. This is subject to change should funding increase. Award winners will be required to submit proof of acceptance into a regionally accredited institution and entrance in a program consistent with elementary education.
To apply, complete the form below. Applicants will be notified of their status by May 30, 2020. You are encouraged to complete the essay portions of the application in a separate file as the form will not permit you to save your work.
This scholarship is being managed by Out of the Woods LLC located at 216 North McDonough Street Jonesboro, GA 30236. The scholarship committee and Out of the Woods LLC do not collect data from site visitors. The website is hosted by webs.com which does collect referral and location information on site visitors.
